The allocation of their marketing investment is:
- Website (17%)
- Email Marketing (17%)
- Direct marketing (13%)
- Networking (13%)
- Social Media (13%)
- Advertising (12%)
- Exhibitions (9%)
- Telemarketing (6%)
For social media these companies are using the following sites:
- Facebook (51%)
- Twitter (42%)
- LinkedIn (39%)
- Flickr (16%)
The total marketing budgets for SMEs is:
- Less than £10,000 (39%)
- £10,000 – £50,000 (14%)
- £50,000 – £100,000 (14%)
- Greater then £100,000 (32%)
Interestingly only 13% of small businesses use Pay-Per-Click advertising yet 82% of these same companies don't make a return on this investment!
